Team Phoenix

Team Phoenix is the recreation arm of the Friends' Central Aquatics' (FCA) competitive swim program.   All swimmers must be registered with United States Swimming through the Middle Atlantic Swimming LSC.  This group is for swimmers between the ages of 9 and 15 who want to explore or participate on a competitive team but may not be ready to specialize or meet the demands of a travel team. The spring season is also a great “jump start” opportunity for those kids that participate in summer league swimming.

Swimmers must be able to swim at least 25 yards in free and back and show some understanding of breast and fly.  All new participants need to be evaluated before joining.

2024-2025 SEASONS
Fall, Winter, and Spring.  Each session will require separate registration.

Fall:  September 9th - December 12th
Winter: January 2rd - March 21st
Spring: April 9th - May 23rd

PRACTICES
All practices are held at Friends' Central School (Upper School Campus) located at 1101 City Avenue, Wynnewood, PA, 19096.   You can view a map of the campus here.  The pool is in Building 11, participants should walk around the side of building 9, the Shimada Athletic Center.  You will see the pool through the glass doors.  

Three practices a week are offered.  While there are no weekly practices requirements for Team Phoenix members, the more your swimmer participates at practices the more improvement you can expect to see.

USA Swimming Registration:  USA Swimming has changed their registration process and all families will now be responsible for self registering for USA Swimming at the beginning of the season.  We will have two in person seminars to help with this process.  All swimmers for the Fall Season must be registered by September 30th.

DISCOUNTS

REFUNDS & FEES
Refunds: No refunds will be given after week one of each season.  From registration to the end of week one, refunds will be allowed minus 10% of program costs.
