FCA

The FCA Swim Team has two seasons each year. The Fall/Winter 2011-2012 season runs from September 19th to March 16th. The Spring/Summer season runs from April 16th to July 13th. Swimmers may join the team at the beginning of each season. All FCA swimmers are expected to join United States Swimming and to participate in all meets. The FCA 2010-2011 Parents Handbook is available in pdf format. (Adobe Acrobat Reader required).
Novice (Grades 1-3)
2 practices per week (Tu/Th/Sat) Practice Schedule
The Novice swimmer must be able to swim 50 yards of each stroke and roughly 25 yards of Butterfly. Practices develop stroke technique and introduce swimmers to competitive training by working on aerobic endurance and concentration.
Rate: Fall/Winter: $650; FCS $600.
Spring/Summer: $400; FCS $350.
Junior I & Junior I Gold (Grades 3-6)
3-4 practices per week (M/W/F/Sat/Sun) Practice Schedule
The Junior I swimmer must be able to swim 75 yards of each stroke and 50 yards of Butterfly legally. Practices focus on stroke drills and starts and turns. Volume and interval training are introduced, and technique is emphasized. Competition increases, and swimmers work on goal setting, accountability, and commitment.
Rate: Fall/Winter: $750; FCS students $700
Spring/Summer: $500; FCS students $450
Junior II Bronze (Grades 6-8)
5 practices per week (M/Tu//W/Th/F/Sat/Sun) Practice Schedule
The Junior II Bronze swimmer must be able to swim 100 yards of each stroke legally. Junior II's have a similar focus to Jr. I's with a stronger emphasis on volume training.
Rate: Fall/Winter: $850; FCS students $800
Spring/Summer: $650; FCS students $600
Junior II Silver (Grades 7-12)
5 practices per week (M-Sun) Practice Schedule
The Junior II Silver swimmer must be able to swim 100 yards of each stroke legally, have at least B or BB times, and experience in the 400 IM and the 500 Free. Junior II's have a similar focus to Jr. I's with a stronger emphasis on volume training.
Rate: Fall/Winter: $850; FCS students $80
Spring/Summer: $650; FCS students $600
Junior II Gold (Grades 9-12)
6 practices per week (M-Sun) Practice Schedule
The Junior II Gold swimmer must be able to swim 200 yards of each stroke legally, have at least BB or A times, qualified for Junior Olympics or Senior Championships, and have distance event experience beyond the 400 IM and the 500 Free. This group is for swimmers transitioning into the Senior Group.
Rate: Fall/Winter: $850; FCS students $800
Spring/Summer: $650; FCS students $600
Seniors (Grades 9-12)
7+ practices per week (M-Sun) Practice Schedule
The Senior swimmer must be able to swim 200 yards of each stroke legally , have at least BB or A times, qualified for Junior Olympics or Senior Championships, and have distance event experience beyond the 400 IM and the 500 Free. These swimmers have made the commitment to training at a high level. Practices emphasize volume training with continued attention to stroke technique as well as biomechanical and physiological progression.
Rate: Fall/Winter: $950; FCS students $900
Spring/Summer: $750; FCS students $700
Additional Fees:
Initiation fee: $50 per swimmer (one time)
USS membership: $60 per swimmer (yearly)
Equipment Fee: $50 per swimmer (per season)
Meet Escrow: $100 per swimmer (per season)
We offer a 5% sibling discount for all non-FCS families.

Spring/Summer: April 6th
Late application fee: $50
A stroke evaluation is required for all prospective team swimmers. Call to schedule.
